The low country od South Carolina and Georgia is like no other place in the World. The Live Oaks down near the coast canopy the roads with their branches and Spanis Moss. It makes for some of the prettiest roads in the country. I hoped to capture that in this picture.  Click here if you are interested in this painting.

Click here for a larger image. Charleston is my favorite city Its a walkable city and one if the nicest spots is there at the tip of Charleston. It’s the battery. This is where the cannons were fired on Fort Sumter that started the Civil War. The history and the beatiful scenery make it one of the nicest spots in Charleston. Click here if you would like to see a larger image.  If you ever visit the low country of SC one of the things you fall in love with is the live oaks. Many of them are 100’s of years old and have multiple brances going every which way with Spanish Moss draping down. If you combine this with sun coming through it creates a myraid of highlights and shadows. Its pretty spectacular. Harbour Town Shadows Click here for a larger image. Harbour Town in Hilton Head SC in is beautiful place. IF you go there have a seat in some of the rocking chairs there and look out unto the harbour and the lighthouse. Cooper River Bridge The Arthur Ravenel or Cooper River bridge is the beautiful new bridge that connects Charleston SC with Mt Pleasant SC. I have walked, ran, biked and driven over this bridge many times. It is a magnificent bridge and is celebrated each Spring with The Cooper River Bridge Run. Waterfront Park Charleston SC Charleston SC is a beautiful city full of history and appeal. It’s also full of beautiful lights and shadows and you can see it all on display at Waterfront Park. The marsh is almost like another planet. It’s regulated by the tide. The tide goes in and out and the whole ecosystem adjust. There is water, grass, and lots of sky and reflections. Pier at Sunrise i grew up going to the beach. One of the best parts on NC and SC beaches are the piers. The second best part are the sunrise and sunsets. I thought I’d paint a combination of the too. Click here if you are interested in this painting.
