Its because it was stolen in the early 1900’s It was soon on the cover of every major newspaper making it the most recognizable painting in the World. Click here for a larger image .If my High School Years had a soundtrack it would be mostly Van Halen Songs. It seems to prepresent and remind me of my youth as I think it does for many. I still smile and imediately feel beter when a Van Halen song comes on the radio. I was hoping to capture that exact feeling here. I hope it makes you smile. Click here for a larger image. My mom loved Elvis. She had multiple albums and played them frequently when I was a kid. He died when I was eight years old. Multiple movies came out about his life. I too became a fan. If you listen to Elvis for an hour or two I think you will become a fan too. I alway knew I’d paint The King of Rock and Roll someday. Click here for a larger image. I painting this right after hear of Eddie VanHalen’s death. I listened to VanHalen the entire painting. I felt like my youth died that day. Van Halen was huge during my high school days and I say them several times. I had a buddy who was a really good guitarist and of course the Holy Grail for a guitar player is to play EVH’s “Eruption” It was initially a warm up exercise but became his most popular part of his guitar solo.
